On Wednesday, PlayStation Network encountered outage in their service. Many gamers were unable to login to their account because of this matter. Sony took immediate response to the issue, making the service offline to investigate thoroughly the cause of the outage.
Playstation spokesperson Patrick Seybold's statement about the problem:
An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th. Providing quality entertainment services to our customers and partners is our utmost priority.
He stated that an external intrusion is the cause of the problem. Their target for that matter is the Anonymous team. The Anonymous started attacking Sony last month. When do you think the grudge will end? Stay tuned.
